Agriculture is one of the primary means of employment in the Gaza Strip due to the comfortable climate and natural conditions friendly to the growth of quality agricultural products. In order to support this sector, the CLA has a special Office for Agricultural Coordination, which is responsible for coordinating between agricultural actors in Gaza and those in Israel.

The Office for Agricultural Coordination in the Coordination and Liaison Administration is a representative of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture. It serves a hub for solving problems related to agriculture and initiating efforts to improve operation. It is also the point of contact for the Palestinian agricultural sector, both during routine periods and emergency conditions. As part of the role, the Agricultural Coordinator is responsible for assisting Gazan farmers by advancing marketing agricultural and fishing products from the Gaza Strip to Judea and Samaria, Israel, and abroad. Every week, the local produce is sold in markets outside of Gaza. Between 2015 and 2016, a total of 36,765 tons of produce have been exported and sold.In addition, the CLA has initiated professional seminars and development workshops for knowledge sharing between Israeli and Palestinian farmers. This exposure helps both sides learn from one another about new techniques and technological innovations. Since 2015, over 200 Palestinian farmers and agricultural professionals have participated in this program.

Another function of this department is dealing with animals and livestock. Over the past two years, the office has overseen the evacuation of a number of animals including lions, lion cubs, monkeys, turtles and swans from Gaza. These animals were extricated due to poor conditions in Gaza and were relocates to Israel, Judea and Samaria, and other countries around the world.

The Agricultural Coordination Office of the CLA also provides treatment for breakouts of livestock and plant diseases.
