Population Register

The Population Registry Office is responsible for updating and archiving the Palestinian population registry held by Israel, in coordination with the Palestinian Authority.

In accordance with the Oslo Accords, the full responsibility for the operation of the Palestinian population registry and for providing service to the region's population was transferred to the Palestinian Authority.

The office operates to update the population registry files held by the Civil Administration in accordance with the file held by the Palestinian Authority.  

Areas of responsibility and services:

  • Receiving the Palestinian population registry file and updating it regularly.

  • Extending visas for foreigners visiting the area.

  • Providing information to state officials and authorized entities in accordance with the needs and the provisions of the law.

  • Handling visit licenses of foreigners, granted per the Palestinian Authority's request, with the approval of COGAT.
