Hours of Operations Extended at Allenby Bridge

As of yesterday, Monday the 20th of June, 2017, the hours of operation at Allenby Bridge will be extended in order to assist Palestinians and to streamline the services provided for all travelers.

As a part of Israel’s efforts to ease services for Palestinians living in Gaza and Judea and Samaria, and despite the various attempts to undermine the stability prevailing in the region, it was decided to expand the operating hours of the Allenby Bridge crossing for the summer. In addition to the obvious advantages of having expanded hours at the crossing to ease conditions for Palestinians who wish to travel abroad, this move will also encourage an influx of tourism to Judea and Samaria.

In accordance with this decision, the officers of the Jericho District Coordination Liaison worked in cooperation with workers at the Allenby Bridge to ensure that these steps would be implemented in time. Following these efforts the bridge will be open 24 hours a day, starting as of yesterday (20.6.17) until September 10th, 2017, from Sunday to Thursday throughout the week. On Fridays the bridge will be open from 7:30AM until 3:00PM and on Saturdays from 7:30AM until 5PM.

It should be noted that starting in mid-September, following the end of the month of Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, the hours of operation of the crossing will revert to the normal format that is in effect the rest of the year. However, we are happy to announce that, starting in 2018, the Allenby Bridge will be open 24/7 all year round.

This decision to expand Allenby Bridge’s operation hours joins a number of additional projects that are planned to upgrade Allenby Bridge crossing, including improvements to the structure, parking and more.
