After he published a greeting two weeks ago for the month of Ramadan, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Major General Yoav (Poly) Mordechai visited the crossings to personally greet the Palestinians. The visit was held on the second Friday during the month of Ramadan, in Rachel Crossing and Qalandiya Crossing. During the visit, the Coordinator met Palestinians that were on their way to Jerusalem in order to observe prayer on Friday.  According to the Coordinator, the entry of worshippers into Israel and waiting period at the crossings are better than in any previous year.

In total, entrances into Israel during the second Friday of Ramadan consisted of approximately 86,000 Palestinians. This is an increase of 10,000 individuals in comparison to the second Friday of Ramadan in 2016. At Temple Mount, there were approximately 132,000 individuals.
